Could you help change a young person's life?
1st Wentwood Scout Group is run entirely by volunteers. Without them, we simply couldn't provide the adventures, skills and experiences that our young people enjoy every week.
The good news is that volunteering with Scouts doesn't mean you have to spend every weekend camping in a muddy field (although you can if that's your thing!).
What do volunteers do?
There are lots of different ways to help, including:
Helping run weekly meetings
Supporting activities and events
Assisting on camps and day trips
Fundraising and administration
Looking after equipment and our building
Sharing your skills and hobbies
Whether you can give a few hours each month or help every week, we would love to hear from you.
There are lots of different roles you could assist us with, from helping with one of our sections, to becoming a trustee of our group, we will always welcome offers of assistance.
Volunteering with Scouts is rewarding, enjoyable and a great way to meet new people. Many of our volunteers develop new skills, gain confidence, make lasting friendships and have just as much fun as the young people. Most importantly, it’s about ensuring that we can continue to run fun, safe and engaging activities.
No previous Scouting experience is needed and full support and training are provided.
Volunteer work can also look fantastic on a CV!
